You can tell if the device is charging when you see the battery symbol flashing or moving – if the battery symbol is flashing, the device is charging.

Note: Refer to the online tool for steps on how to identify which base unit the device belongs to.
I’ve had the device working well all day – I feel like I’ve covered half the stadium running up and down stairs! But now, all of a sudden the screen has gone blank and I can’t take payment. Can you help me with it?

Absolutely. It’s possible the device may just have run out of charge. Did you notice the battery getting low?
No, I didn’t notice that actually.

That’s okay - the battery indicator is on the top right of the screen. It changes colours to reflect how much battery you have left. Could you please put the device on the base unit and make sure the power cable is plugged in?
Thanks, ok I’m doing that now. The device is powering on and I can see a charging symbol over the battery icon.
I’m just curious though; can the base unit ever become disconnected from the device? Like, can the device ever lose connection when I’m using Bluetooth?

OK firstly, it’s great that the device is now on and charging. You’ll need to let it charge for about 4 hours to be completely charged again.

In response to your second question, the device could lose connection to the base unit, but you’d have to be quite a distance away from the base unit with the device when connecting via Bluetooth.

Having said that, things like obstructions can affect the range of the Bluetooth coverage. But again, placing the device back on the base unit and restarting it will automatically fix the issue by reconnecting the device to the base. You just need to keep in mind that each device has its own base unit to work off, so they can’t be mixed up or shared.

And that’s one of the great things about Essential Lite Move– you have the option to easily and quickly change communications options, depending on what is going to work best for you on the day.
So, just out of interest, what will happen if I put the wrong device on the base unit?

If the comms method is using 4G/3G, it won’t matter as the base unit is only being used to charge the device. But if the comms method is Bluetooth via Ethernet, the device will not work. I can walk you through some steps on identifying which base the device belongs to.
OK thanks for that – I think I’m sorted.
