Common functions

Program structure, Add page, Delete, Move up, Move down, Select interface, Preview Program, Publish Program, Revert program, Welcome, Manage, Close, Heading Text, Default Text, Prompt Text, Preview Page, Cancel Changes, Save Changes, View Resources, Help Program structure: This panel shows you the structure of the program, and allows you to select screens/pages for editing. Add page: This button allows you to add a page to the program. Note: you can only add pages to the ’r;Welcome’ topic. Delete: This button allows you to delete a page in the program. You need to first select the page you wish to delete and then click this button. Note: You cannot delete topics, and can only delete pages from the ’r;Welcome’ topic. Move up: This button allows you to move a selected page up in the order under a topic. Note: If the selected page is the first one under a topic it cannot be moved up. Move down: This button allows you to move a selected page down in the order under a topic. Note: If the selected page is the first one under a topic it can only be moved down. Select interface menu: This drop down menu allows you to select an interface. To view your selected interface, select a page from the ’r;Program structure’ panel, and click ’r;Preview Page’. Preview Program: This button allows you to preview the whole program. We recommend you do this before you make any edits and regularly throughout the development process so you can view your changes. Publish Program: This button allows you to publish your program to the web. Note: Make sure you have thoroughly checked through your program using the preview function before you publish. Revert Program: This button allows you to replace all the current content with the version you last published to the live site. When you revert you lose any changes that have been made since you last published the program, even if you saved the changes. Welcome tab: This button returns you to the ’r;Welcome’ section. Manage tab: This button allows you to edit and manage the creation of your online induction program. Close tab: This button allows you to close the Flying Start application. Heading Text: This field allows you to enter heading text that will display at the top of the published page. When you have reached the character limit you won’t be able to enter any more letters. On this side of the screen you will enter/edit content, add clickable items and graphics. Each template is slightly different. To find out more go to ’r;How the templates work’ in this Help section. Default Text: This field displays the initial information the learner will see on the screen. Some sample content has been entered which you can edit and customise to suit your organisation. Prompt Text: This field displays the text that tells the learner what to do next. You can edit this text as required. Preview Page: This button allows you to preview the page you currently have selected. Note: this previews only the selected page, not the whole program. Cancel Changes: This button allows you to cancel all changes you have made on the selected page since you last saved. Save Changes: This button allows you to save all changes you have made within a page since you last saved. View Resources: This button allows you to insert links to helpful internet/intranet pages that provide additional information for your new starters. Help tab: This button launches help.
